Isn’t it wonderful how technology brings people together, changing how we communicate and breaking down barriers along the way.  I was reminded of this last Saturday when we went to Tita Elvie’s 50th birthday in Laguna.  Seems like Skype calls are now a standard whenever Joie’s family gets together and this is no exception.  Definitely the highlight of the day!

"All I ask is one thing, and I’m asking this particularly of young people: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism, for the record, it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen."

Look who dropped by yesterday!
Anne was the PSIA executive director until she decided to pursue further studies in Australia last year.  It was a one year course on IT and it’s great to see her in the flesh again!
We had lunch at World Chicken in Greenbelt where she shared stories of life in Australia as well as her course and how hard it was, being compressed to a year and all.  I was happy to know that her Java training, which we conducted, was able to help her in her studies!
She’s getting married this year and I realized that you need to do things like study again, etc, before you settle down.  Something to remember in case I’m faced with the same opportunity as her :-).
